Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Asia Wine Review platform ("Platform") operated by The Asia Wine Review Pte. Ltd. ("AWR", "we", "us", or "our"), a company registered in Singapore.

By registering for an account or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

You must be at least 18 years old to use this Platform. Wine is an alcoholic beverage and this platform is intended for adults only. By registering, you confirm that you are 18 or older. We reserve the right to terminate accounts where age misrepresentation is discovered.

You must provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating your account and keep it up to date.

We offer the following account types:

• Free Account — access to public wine scores, personal tasting note log. No charge.
• Founding Membership — full access to all scores, editorial content, and pre-launch events. Subject to subscription fees as displayed at the time of purchase.

Account access is personal and non-transferable. You may not share your account credentials with others.

Paid memberships are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually depending on the plan chosen) via Stripe. By providing payment details, you authorise AWR to charge your payment method on the applicable billing cycle.

• All prices are displayed in Singapore Dollars (SGD) unless stated otherwise.
• Payments are non-refundable except where required by applicable law.
• We will notify you in advance of any price changes. Continued use after the change takes effect constitutes acceptance.
• You may cancel your subscription at any time. Access continues until the end of your current billing period.

All content on the Platform — including wine scores, tasting notes published by AWR's critics, articles, methodology, ratings, design, and branding — is owned by or licensed to The Asia Wine Review Pte. Ltd. and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

You may not reproduce, distribute, publicly display, or create derivative works from our content without prior written permission.

Your personal tasting notes remain yours. You retain ownership of notes you save privately to your account. By saving notes on our platform, you grant us a limited licence to store and display them to you. We do not publish or share your private notes.

You agree not to:

• Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Platform or another user's account.
• Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from the Platform without our written consent.
• Post, upload, or transmit any content that is false, defamatory, obscene, or infringes third-party rights.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the Platform.
• Use the Platform to solicit or advertise products or services without our consent.

Violation of these rules may result in immediate account suspension or termination without refund.

Critics and contributors who submit scores and tasting notes to AWR do so under a separate contributor agreement. Submitted scores and notes become part of AWR's editorial record and may be published, edited for house style, and attributed to the critic under their name and credentials.

Wine scores and tasting notes represent the opinions of individual critics at a specific point in time. They are not a guarantee of quality, value, or suitability for any particular person or purpose. AWR does not provide financial, investment, or purchase advice.

The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, AWR and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Platform.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to AWR in the 12 months preceding the claim, or SGD 100, whichever is greater.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

You may close your account at any time by contacting us at hello@theasiawinereview.com. Upon closure, your personal tasting notes will be deleted. Paid subscriptions are not refunded for unused portions of a billing period unless required by law.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or if we are required to do so by law. We will endeavour to give reasonable notice except where immediate action is required.

Your use of the Platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data in accordance with Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) where applicable.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. Any dispute arising from or in connection with these Terms shall first be submitted to mediation in Singapore. If unresolved, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Platform after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
